Left brain, right brain. Analytical, creative. Who says you can only be one or the other?

At the Society of Actuaries (SOA), we know young actuaries like you are analytical AND creative. And we’ve designed a contest to celebrate your skills.
Announcing the Young Actuaries in Asia Two Ways to Win Contest
Essay Contest
Your First Way to Win!
Board Game Contest
Your Second Way to Win!
Tell us how you’re using your actuarial skills to make a positive impact on the world. Are you at work performing critical analysis to the performance of social insurance Systems?

Or maybe you flex your actuarial skills by volunteering your time to provide retirement counseling to low-income individuals.

Whatever way you’re using your actuarial background to help make the world a better place, we want to know!

Submit your essay of at least 500 but no more than 1500 words by August 27, 2021 to China@soa.org to be considered and potentially win $1,000USD. Up to three winners will be selected.

Maybe you’d prefer to show us how your actuarial skills improve society through a more unique way. Then consider submitting a board game design. That’s right, you’re encouraged to design a board game within a business context that uses actuarial knowledge and skill sets in an engaging and easy-to-understand format.

You may submit a board game design individually or as a team. There will be two evaluation rounds for this portion of the Young Actuaries in Asia Two Ways to Win contest. First round submissions are due August 31 to apac@soa.org. This is another chance for up to three winners to earn $1,000USD.
